Block party is the last chance to see the 1.6 million LED lights in Historic Downtown Glendale, as well as experience glowing hot-air balloons and live music from local bands. The event, which encompasses 16 blocks of downtown Glendale, is on Jan. 12. Local pilots will bring 18 hot-air balloons, which will be tethered throughout the grounds.
Throughout the festival grounds, local musicians will entertain crowds with acoustic, classic rock, country, indie, pop, Motown, R&B and acoustic music. The Glendale Arts and Culture Division will host a special state with entertainment from the Phoenix Conservatory of Music, Afro-Caribbean percussionist Keith Johnson, the Arizona Songwriters Association and rockabilly musician Tom Mein. Food Vendors will sell desserts, snacks and entrees, and two children's areas will have inflatables and bounce houses.
